Brush trace meets material layer
Painted impressionism lives on brush marks that only come together in the eye. Impressionist mixed media painting for sale from 500 to 1,000 euro lets you see brushstroke, paper layer and palette knife residue side by side.
In painting with an impressionist spirit, color often sits in short, visible touches. Mixed media adds pasted paper, wax or gauze that absorb light differently. A meadow or a harbor basin then gets a surface that seems to shimmer on its own.

Distance makes the picture
As with classic impressionist canvases, the effect unfolds from a bit of distance. Plan a spot where you can step back two or three paces, such as a hallway with depth or the wall facing a seating area.
Questions before buying
Clarify whether the work carries varnish or a protective coat, and whether it was made on canvas, panel or paper. Wax and thick impasto are sensitive to heat, so a place next to a radiator or stove is a poor choice.
