Minimal intervention
The modern sketch takes time for leaving out: few lines, much paper, one sentence in ink. Modern sketches for sale start at under 500 euro, often in pen and ink.
The pen drawing is unforgiving: what is set stays. That yields a form of self-assurance you can feel in the sheet. Scratches from the nib and small ink drops become traces that make the moment of making visible.

Sketches in a modern interior
Suited to clear lines and open rooms, sketches work as quiet accents. Hang them above a dresser, beside a door or in the stairwell. A white frame with a deep mat gives the ink room and makes the sheet seem larger.
Choosing and pointers
In the tier under 500 euro, sketches on paper are common. Ask about paper type and ink type, since not every ink is lightfast. Signature, size and photos of the back belong in a good description.
