Original artwork description
I am Philippe Buil, a French sculptor, and with *Soir de Première*, I wanted to capture the fleeting movement of a dancer and the flowing motion of her veils.
Created using my signature metal lace technique, this sculpture takes shape through the fusion of metal drop by drop. Steel establishes the structure and rhythm of the composition, while bronze introduces warmth and subtle variations in tone. The openwork allows light to pass through the metal, giving the veils an almost weightless quality.
Conceived as a sculpture in the round, the work reveals different gestures and perspectives as you move around it. The dancer’s movement extends beyond the figure itself, transforming the surrounding space into part of the composition.
Handcrafted in my studio in France, *Soir de Première* is a unique original artwork, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
