Raw, cut, ground
A rough piece of natural stone can become an abstract form that still smells of the quarry and yet looks designed. Abstract natural stone sculptures for sale at 1,000 to 2,000 euro suit those for whom material and stance matter more than subject.
Abstract work in natural stone often combines several treatments on one block: broken edges, sawn planes, ground passages. That keeps the origin of the stone legible. The palette of the rocks, from pale limestone to dark slate, brings calm or severity to the picture. Many pieces live on holes, recesses or incisions that give the block air.

Place and type of rock
Clarify the type of rock, since it decides location and care. Soft limestone or sandstone belongs indoors or under a roof, harder stone tolerates garden and terrace. Note weight and dimensions and plan a firm plinth. A broom or soft brush is enough as a care tool. A photo in side light shows how sculptural the surface really is, and a tape measure helps check the space beforehand.
