Weather and care
Soft stone such as sandstone absorbs water and suffers in frost, so it belongs under a roof or is impregnated. Hard varieties can stand outside. Ask in the description about type of rock, impregnation and weight. Brush the surface dry and avoid high-pressure washers. Note dimensions and weight before deciding so that the piece fits your surroundings. A close-up photo of the surface shows grain and pores more precisely than any description.
