Feeling before reality
Expressionism paints feelings, not likenesses: colors are heightened, forms distorted, lines hard. Expressionist acrylic pictures for sale under 500 euro bring this directness home in compact form.
A red sky, a green face, a house that leans: Expressionists subordinate color to expression. Acrylic supports this stance with glowing, quickly covering tones that can be reworked without waiting. Typical of Expressionist work are strong contours and unexpected color combinations, say green in a face or orange in the sky. The smaller the format, the more the sharpness of such decisions counts.

Strong, but not loud
Even in a small format an Expressionist picture has presence. It can dominate a wall in a living room or serve as a single accent of color above a chest of drawers. Black or white frames underline the hardness of the contours.
