Clear forms, quiet colors
Modern watercolor uses the transparency of water-based paint for clear forms and muted color harmonies. If you want modern watercolor paintings for sale, you will find calm sheets, for example under 500 euro.
Modern watercolors forgo narrative and put surfaces, lines and gradients in relation. Often only two or three tones talk to each other. The light paper ground stays visible as part of the composition. Sometimes a rectangle in blue-gray floating on a light ground is enough.

Fitting contemporary rooms
Such sheets look especially good in bright, reduced apartments. Natural wood, white walls and linen are their allies. A slim frame and a broad mat make the sheet the calm center of the wall. The pictures also hang well in series or pairs.
For choosing
Look for clean edges and even fields. Ask about paper weight and whether the borders were left unpainted.
