Abstraction without a run-up
Abstract works on paper under 500 euro are often spontaneous, rich in color and free of any need to explain. You can find abstract paintings on paper under 500 euro for sale here if you want color and form without detour.
On paper, abstract work happens like jotting down thoughts: fast, without a sketch, with an open ending. Color fields bump into each other, lines run out, drops remain standing. The sheet is rarely fully composed, but usually densely exciting.

Good for trying out
If you are unsure how abstract art looks in your own home, it is best to try small. A clip frame on a shelf or the kitchen wall is enough. There the picture can easily be replaced later.
Checking the paper
Look at paper type, weight and whether the sheet is wavy. Heavy board stays flat, thin paper needs a mat. Acid-free board on the back helps. Color fields in strong tones can look as impressive on paper as on canvas, as long as the surface is framed well.
