A support with a concept
In the highest price range, oil on wood, aluminum or canvas stands for works in which every material decision carries weight. Oil paintings over 10,000 euro on different supports are for sale here, with strong presence.
The painter chooses the ground like a stage. On smooth wood glass-like surfaces arise, on aluminum cool brilliance, on fine linen warm depth. In this class the material is usually part of the idea and can be read in the work.

Weight, frame, climate
Heavy panels need professional fixing on walls that can bear them. Frames should be made to protect the edges. Watch for stable room conditions: oils on wood respond to swings in temperature and humidity.
Checking the proof completely
Good descriptions name certificate, signature, date, dimensions, support, varnish and provenance. Ask for detail images of surface, edge and back. Clarify how the work is packed and transported so it arrives undamaged.
