Larger, denser, surer
From 1,000 to 2,000 euro begins the oil painting that can carry a wall alone. You can find oil paintings in this price class for sale here, in generous formats and with a mature handwriting.
In this band you often meet larger canvases and works that have matured for a long time: more layers, surer composition, a practiced stroke. You can see the decisions are made. Oil in particular shows such maturity in depth and calm.

A picture as the center
Paintings of this size become the center of a wall. Above a sofa, dining table or fireplace they unfold their effect without needing extras. Plan the distance: allow about twice the diagonal of the picture for viewing.
Tips for orientation
If you search with a goal, start with oil on canvas or with a style such as Impressionism. Clarify dimensions, support, varnish and hanging before buying, and look at the back and edge in photos.
