Between drawing and painting
Graphic painting builds a picture from line, surface and lettering that feels almost like a design and yet is painted. Graphic and illustrative oil paintings from 1,000 to 2,000 euro are for sale here, with a clear visual language.
Where illustration meets oil painting a particular tone arises. Contours are precise and colors are set flat, yet the handwriting remains perceptible. Typographic elements, such as letters or numerals, become picture bodies.

Playing with wall space
Because the visual language is clear, it carries in larger rooms too. A graphic painting looks good in offices, studios and modern apartments. Combine it with plain furnishings so lines and areas have room.
Checking edge quality
Sharp edges and smooth areas reveal the craft. Read in the listing how they were made, say with masking tape or freehand. A clean varnish keeps color areas even and makes dusting easier. If a picture contains lettering, check that letter shapes and line spacing fit the rest of the composition and do not feel like a foreign body.
