Color without a model
Abstract oil pastel carries color and gesture into the picture without detour. Abstract paintings with oil pastel are for sale here, as sheets or canvases whose marks tell of swing, speed and pauses.
Without a motif, hue, pressure and direction of the stroke decide. Oil pastel supplies dense, opaque color and can be layered. Between strong and delicate zones a rhythm arises that structures the picture.

Support, size, price
You often see oil pastel on paper, board and canvas, for example in acrylic on canvas. In price it starts with works of 500 to 1,000 euro and reaches further up. The description names support and dimensions each time.
Beware of warmth
Wax and oil stay soft, so pictures should not hang beside a heater, a stove or a window in midday sun. Under glass with spacing the surface is protected. A calm wall without pattern lets the color speak.
