Plane without a subject
Abstraction on paper puts color, trace and white space in close contact. Abstract mixed-media works on paper for sale under 500 euro show sheets in which a single stroke can already be an event.
On the sheet, edges, tonal values and empty spots decide. A blot of ink, a stripe of acrylic, a glued-in piece of paper: the elements stand for themselves and gain their strength from the white. Paper leaves the picture air that canvas does not always give.

Format and framing
Under 500 euro one generally expects small to medium formats where a wide mat border strengthens the effect. White or light frames emphasize lightness, black ones give the abstraction weight. Measure the space on your wall before deciding.
Checking the paper
Ask about paper type, weight and origin. The more layers a sheet carries, the sturdier it must be. Waves are common with wet work but should lie flat in the frame. An acid-free mat keeps colors from yellowing.
