The hand as a tool
Gestural painting with mixed media holds swing, pressure and tempo on the canvas. You can find expressive mixed media painting for sale from 1,000 to 2,000 euro here, with traces of palette knife, hand and broom.
Whoever paints gesturally lets the hand decide: paint is pressed, smeared, sprayed, scratched into the wet with the brush handle. Mixed media additions such as sand or paper change how the paint flows. The result is a picture that records every impulse.

Size and distance
With pictures like these, viewing distance counts. Up close you see texture and drips, from three meters away the composition reads as a whole. A room with some depth pays off.
Frame and wall
A frameless picture with painted side edges feels contemporary, a slim shadow-gap frame gives extra hold. Check how large and heavy the picture is with its frame, and whether your wall is suited to it.
