Color that has been melted in
Enamel is glass fired onto metal at great heat, and that union gives color a depth no brush can imitate. Mixed media with enamel is for sale for anyone who values glass-clear glow on the wall.
In the kiln, glass powder fuses into a hard, smooth layer. The color does not sit on the ground, it lives in the glass. That is why it looks intense, stays lightfast and withstands rubbing. Mixed media adds paper, paint or metal foil around the glossy part.

Delicate edges
As hard as the surface is, edges and corners are sensitive: a sharp knock can chip enamel. Ask about the frame and edge protection, and do not let the piece bump the wall while hanging.
Place in the room
Enamel feels cool and glows especially in rooms with plenty of daylight. Beside natural wood or concrete it gains contrast. Further pages exist for abstract art and for works from 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
