Originals in this selection, Surrealism, under 500 euro.
Dream logic in pencil and ink
Surrealist drawings depend on the precision with which the impossible is drawn: a shadow that belongs to something else, a room that overtakes itself. These surrealist drawings for sale under 500 euro build their riddles from very few means.
Whether ink, graphite or colored pencil, the material stays quiet so the idea can work. A fine line makes the improbable believable, and that is where the soft shock comes from. Some sheets begin as a sketch, others are drawn through cleanly in pencil from the start.

Hanging and looking
Surreal motifs ask to be studied, not skimmed. A spot beside an armchair or at the end of a hallway gives them time. A light frame with a wide mat creates calm around the picture, and directed light picks out the fine hatching.
Buying notes for this budget
At this price level, originals often come as compact formats and works on paper by emerging artists. Look for a note on the paper, the signature, and whether the description mentions frame and mat.
