Lines as flickering light
A pencil in the impressionist style draws light as a pattern of fine lines that overlap and brighten one another. Impressionist pencil drawings for sale cluster in the middle price tiers, between 500 to 1,000 euro and 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
Instead of filling surfaces, the draftsperson sets short strokes that only create brightness in combination. Pencil allows very delicate transitions, and graphite brings metallic gloss into the shadows. The impression is light and moving.

Delicately framed, hung in the light
A slim frame in light wood or metal and a generous mat suit the lightness of these sheets. Pick a wall that is evenly lit during the day. Direct sun and heating air do the paper no good.
Checking before you buy
Ask about paper type, format and signature. Detail photos in raking light show whether the stroke is loose and controlled at once. The state of the edges and whether the sheet is mounted also belong in the decision.
