Stroke as light source
Impressionism needs no palette; a pencil is enough to make light flicker. If you want to buy impressionist pencil drawings for sale, you will find sheets here that rely entirely on stroke and paper.
The closer the strokes lie together, the darker the field; the further apart, the lighter. This simple rule is enough to draw sun through leaves, water at a shore or a corridor in morning light. Step closer and you can see how a net of tiny strokes turns into a clear sense of time of day and weather, entirely without color.

In the room
Sheets like these live on side light. A window nearby or a soft wall lamp makes the hatching look sculpted. A pale wood frame in ash or birch suits the lightness of the subjects.
Checking authenticity
On a reproduction, you cannot feel traces of drawing. Ask for a photo in raking light: real graphite shines visibly there, while a print stays flat.
