A counterweight in the room
In rooms with many colors and patterns, an abstract sheet works as a resting point. Hang it where the eye needs a hold, and frame it plainly. A deep mat separates it from its surroundings and lets the line work come through.
Starting out and details
To start, works on paper under 500 euro are a good bet and easy to frame. Check paper, technique and signature, and with charcoal ask about fixing. A photo of the back often reveals how a sheet has been treated.
