Artist Statement
The abstract language of form with reference to the figurative has a
structure with flowing lines.
The sculptures are situated in the field of tension between distance and intimacy as well as mass and fragility.
as well as mass and fragility.
Pointing out and connecting polarities are the main focus and challenge.

Norbert Diemert (* 1958 in Hanover) finds the impulses for his free forms
through observations in everyday life and in nature. Here he is not concerned with
imitating or merely depicting the impressions he finds, but rather
but the symbolisation of tensions. The oscillation
between dynamics and statics, figuration and abstraction, man and nature
is a recurring theme in his entire oeuvre. Again and again
one also encounters the subject of femininity. Diemert's sculptures always move
between two poles, they are balancing acts, spaces in between. Starting
the form in his head", according to the artist himself, he removes layer after layer of the massive
massive block of stone and allows free, previously unseen forms to emerge.
