Grain as drawing
Wood brings its own grain along, and in abstract forms the grain becomes the actual pattern. Abstract wood sculptures for sale between 1,000 and 2,000 euro also bring a piece of grown material into the house.
On a curved, non-representational form the grain runs across the swells and underlines every bend. Dark walnut feels heavy and warm, pale linden or maple almost soft. Oiled wood shows its structure plainly, while wax keeps the surface silky.

Living with room climate
Wood moves. Right above a radiator or in strong sun it can develop fine cracks. A spot with steady humidity and some distance from heat sources keeps the sculpture stable for years.
Questions for the listing
What matters is the species of wood, the finish and whether the piece was carved from one block or joined. Care can be clarified there too: a dry cloth usually does it, with a little furniture wax now and then. More pieces sit under wood as a material.
