Soft forms from hard casting
Bronze and abstraction share a long history: since modernism the old casting metal has served free forms. You can look for abstract bronze sculptures for sale if you want to join warmth in the metal with reduction of form.
Bronze can be cast in flowing lines that would be laborious in steel. Abstract bronzes therefore often show swings, hollows and organic curves that recall shells, bones or waves without depicting them. The surface stays velvety dense.

Patina and light
With patina brown becomes a play of dark green, black and gold. Warm light stresses the tones, cold light makes them matter-of-fact. Place the piece where side light models the curves, and keep it away from damp.
Certificate and edition
Bronze is often cast in editions. Ask about number, foundry and signature. A note on whether the piece is hollow or solid explains weight and price. Care notes handed over spare you mistakes when cleaning later.
