Drawing on the plate, printing on paper
The monotype with charcoal is printmaking in a single pull: soft black, grainy surfaces, nothing twice. Monotypes with charcoal are for sale, whether impressionist, graphic or under 500 euro.
Charcoal is applied to a plate, smudged, removed again and finally printed. The impression mirrors the drawing and adds a random grain. Each sheet is therefore an original that cannot be copied. That produces a sheet that looks like a drawing but has the character of a print, with a surface you can look at for a long time in raking light.

Joining one-offs into groups
Several monotypes resemble each other in tone and format without being identical. Hung in groups they read like a study. A white mat and a restrained frame are enough. Protect the sheet from light and contact.
What belongs in the description
Reliable details name one-off, technique, paper, size and fixing. A number as in editions is missing, and a signature with a date counts instead. If you are unsure, ask about year of making and storage.
