Clear and singular
Black signs, printed once: the graphic monotype in charcoal joins clarity with chance. Graphic charcoal monotypes are for sale to anyone who loves one-offs.
On the plate, outlines and surfaces are made of charcoal that pick up slight textures and gaps in the impression. Unlike editions, this impression exists only once. Graphic severity and handmade irregularity are in dialogue. The result shows edges that are not entirely even, and it is exactly this slight restlessness that makes the signs lively.

Signs in the room
The sheet works best alone on a light wall. A slim frame with a mat holds it together. Side light shows the grain that you hardly notice head-on.
Attending to the one-off and the fixing
Ask whether the sheet is labeled a one-off and how the charcoal was fixed. A signature and date should be present. A description of paper and size belongs here, as do notes on care.
