Areas of pure color
A red pillar, a yellow window, a strip of blue sky: modern color photography sets color like a building block. When you look for modern color ink photographs for sale, check the purity of the surfaces first.
Where modern photography works with color, the areas often stay large and clear. Pigment ink prints such fields evenly, without streaks, and renders edges precisely. That does not work on every paper; smooth surfaces are especially suited.

Color as an accent in the room
A sheet with a strong tone can punctuate a plain room like an exclamation mark. Hang it in a neutral setting, such as above a dresser or in a niche, and choose a frame in black or white.
Before you decide
Check whether the paper is matte or semi-matte, since that changes the color effect noticeably. Note the dimensions, edition and signature, and ask whether the sheet comes with a mat. For white walls, a picture with a single strong tone is often the smartest choice, because it needs nothing else to work. Multicolored motifs, by contrast, ask for more calm in the surroundings.
