Light through the paper
Watercolor seems made for Impressionism, because it does not depict light but lets it shine through. Impressionist watercolors for sale between 1,000 and 2,000 euro suit those who like mood, haze, and reflection.
In watercolor, the paper glows through the paint layer, much like light on a summer morning. Impressionist watercolorists let colors run together and set just a handful of firm accents. Water surfaces, meadows, and clouds appear that seem to breathe.

A quiet place
Watercolors need protection from sun and damp. A spot on a wall without direct sunlight, behind UV glass and with a mat, keeps colors fresh. In a hallway or bedroom with diffuse light, the picture unfolds its fine mood.
Paper and margin
Check the paper type and margin width: a wide margin allows a generous mat. Acid-free paper ages well. Ask about the signature and condition, and whether the sheet is mounted on board. The crop is worth a look too: impressionist sheets live from where the horizon sits and how much sky the paper gets.
