Signs made of water
In watercolor, symbols can hover instead of standing fixed, and symbolist painters like exactly that. Symbolist watercolors for sale between 1,000 and 2,000 euro suit those who look for fine mood in water-based color.
In symbolist watercolor, paint runs so that forms feel like memories: the outline of a tree, a face behind haze, a path without end. Transparency lets the paper glow along. This lightness gains particular depth at larger formats and with several layers.

Dark wood, light wall
A watercolor of this kind profits from contrast in framing: a dark wooden frame against a light wall draws the eye inward. A wide mat in off-white gives the motif air. Avoid sun and damp rooms.
Paper and pigments
Ask about paper type, weight, and pigments. Some tones fade faster than others, so UV-protective glass makes sense. Check corners and margins, and make sure the sheet does not touch the glass directly. If you plan several sheets, choose identical frames so that the motifs do the talking.
