Building, not painting
Abstract mixed-media works with plaster are pictures built from material rather than motifs. Anyone wanting to buy them is looking for surfaces with a history: pressed in, troweled over, painted and sanded back again. Abstract mixed-media paintings with plaster are here for sale.
Plaster joins what does not belong together: sand, paper, gauze, wood shavings. Over it the artist lays color, sands it free again at the edges and lets layers show through. The result recalls old walls where several eras lie on top of one another.

In the house
Such works need no accessories. One piece alone is enough to give a room its center. They are especially lovely in rooms with plaster, lime paint or wood, where the material mirrors itself.
Before you decide
The more substances are in the picture, the more important the question of durability. How are inclusions fixed? Is the surface sealed? How heavy is the picture? Good descriptions answer all of that.
