Layer, inclusion, relief
Wax and mixed-media belong together, because wax accepts nearly anything an artist offers it. If you want mixed-media paintings with wax for sale, expect collages that look sealed and preserved.
A sheet of paper, a piece of gauze or a few plant fibers are set into warm wax and covered over. Depending on the application, what is embedded appears clear or as if behind frosted glass. That gives a blend of depth and surface that pure oil painting cannot match.

Mixed-media wax pieces suit rooms with natural materials, linen and wood. If you prefer a cleaner look, hang them on white-painted walls. One picture is enough to give the wall its center.
Tips for selecting
Check how the surface was protected and whether it is polished or slightly tacky. If you would rather skip recognizable objects, see Abstract. Found items such as feathers or bark also stay put in wax, producing pictures that feel like small display cases made of color. When hanging one, remove dust only with a soft, dry brush.
