Movement on any ground
Gestural acrylic may sit on canvas, wood, or paper and is always an imprint of movement. Expressive acrylic pictures for sale in the 1,000 to 2,000 euro range are best chosen with an eye on support and trace pattern.
On wood the movement stays hard and clear, on paper it turns softer and lighter, on canvas springy. Acrylic takes paint on all three supports without cracking. The same painter can therefore show the same gesture in very different moods.

Hanging and standing
Small and medium formats can be shown in groups, for instance three works with the same palette on one wall. A large gestural picture may hang alone. Mind raking light that brings out splashes and ridges, and avoid hard spots.
What to watch for
Note support, dimensions, and application, and check how securely loose pigments and spray mist are fixed. Paper needs glass, wood often only a fitting on the back. Comparing with other acrylic works helps place the workmanship.
