Paper needs preparation
Oil on paper has the lightness of a sketch and the color strength of a painting. If you want oil on paper under 500 euro for sale, you will find works that feel quick, fresh and direct.
Pure oil harms unprotected paper, because the oil soaks into the fibers. That is why the sheet is primed or sized before painting. Well prepared, the surface stays stable and the paint keeps its glow without forming halos.

Study, sketch, impulse
Oil on paper is a place for experiments: motifs are tried out, color chords tested, movements caught. Such sheets often show the thinking of the painter more honestly than large canvases.
Frame and light
Paper belongs behind glass, with a mat or spacer, so the oil layer never touches the glazing. Do not hang the sheet in direct sun. A pale, slim wooden frame suits almost any wall and brings the picture forward.
