An autonomous sheet
At this price level, oil on paper is usually a large, fully worked sheet with its own authority. If you want oil on paper from 2,000 to 5,000 euro for sale, you will find works that stand between drawing and painting.
Here the paper is no preliminary stage. It carries a fully worked composition whose layers of paint are densely set. The surface feels light and forceful at once, because the pale paper breathes in the background. A good sheet of this kind is a full work.

A frame to museum standard
For paper of this class a mat of acid-free board, UV-protective glass and a stable backing pay off. The frame extends the lifespan. Never place the sheet in direct sunlight and avoid damp rooms.
Details you can ask for
Have the paper weight, primer and year of creation named. A description with a photo of the back and signature builds trust. Ask also how the sheet is shipped, flat or framed, so that it arrives undamaged. A sheet of this size should never be rolled, since the paint layer can crack.
