Contour in oil
Oil on canvas gives graphic motifs an unexpected warmth: the clear shapes pick up a soft sheen. Anyone looking for graphic oil paintings on canvas between 500 and 1,000 euro for sale often wants a picture with attitude and depth at once.
Sharp edges are demanding in oil, since the paint flows softly. Those who manage them cleanly anyway show skill. Layers are masked, dried, reworked. The result is a picture whose lines stand and whose surfaces glow. Often only two or three tones carry the picture.

A clear language on the wall
Typographic or illustrative oil paintings feel calm in a room with little pattern. On a light wall they replace a poster with an original. A frame in oak or black holds the strictness of the composition. Reduced pictures look surprisingly relaxed in a living room.
Details of execution
Varnished or not? How much paint, how long dried? Such questions decide durability and look. The hanging method of a heavier picture belongs in the listing too. A line about the type of varnish helps with care.
