Craft behind the rust
With large formats you can tell whether an artist has truly joined painting and rust. In the 2,000 to 5,000 euro price band there are paintings with rust for sale in which the brush does more than decorate.
Good works show that ground, paint and oxidation have been coordinated. Glazes settle over rust fields, opaque strokes set beats. Some pictures have several levels that only become clear up close.

Large wall, calm surroundings
A work like this carries best alone. It does well in entrance halls and living rooms where the wall would otherwise stay bare. Oak frames or black shadow gaps give a border without dominating.
Questions before buying
See whether the description names the build: support, priming, sealing. Is the picture easy to mount? Notes on care belong there as well. If the brushwork matters more to you than the rust, look at glazes and contours. If the rust matters more, the depth of oxidation counts, which shows in fine gradations.
