Brush meets oxidation
Painting in the widest sense here means color, iron and time on one surface. Under 500 euro you will find rust paintings for sale that combine classic painting methods with an unusual pigment.
Some artists paint first and then let the rust develop, others lay the rust down as a ground and paint over it. Depending on the order, the picture feels soft or high in contrast. You often see both side by side: brush mark and oxidation stain.

Where to put it
Small rust pictures work as a group: three or four formats in a row, ideally on dark green or cream walls. Alone next to a door or on a chest of drawers they still set a calm accent.
Worth asking
Ask how the oxidation was stopped and whether a protective coat exists. For pieces on paper, a frame with a mat also plays a role.
