Of melting and scraping
In abstract wax pictures, painting becomes almost a material in itself: poured, melted, scraped. Browsing abstract wax paintings for sale, you meet surfaces somewhere between skin, stone and silk.
The painter works with heat. Colored wax goes on, the iron glides over it, parts get scraped back and new layers follow. Out of this come clouds, scars and flowing edges that a brush could hardly draw. The abstraction grows from the process itself.

Hanging at home
Warm wax tones such as ochre, beeswax yellow or gray-pink feel gentle beside natural materials. Even cool blues gain softness from the wax. Avoid window spots with strong sun.
Keep looking by price and method
To narrow your budget, try 1,000 to 2,000 euro. If you want wax combined with other substances, mixed-media is the place. Freshly melted wax smells faintly of honey, and with some pieces that scent can still be sensed years later if you step very close. It is one of those small things you only experience with an original.
