Color without motif, with depth
Abstract wax painting has no subject, yet it has body: the layers can be felt and the color seems to glow from within. If you want abstract wax paintings for sale in the 1,000 to 2,000 euro range, expect surfaces that breathe.
Because wax stays translucent, tones do not sit side by side, they sit on top of each other. A red-brown glimmers through gray, and one incision exposes layers beneath. In abstract works this becomes a landscape of traces where the eye lingers longer than on flat color.

Bringing quiet into a room
These paintings are soft-spoken. In a hallway, beside the dining table or in a therapy room they bring warm color without pushing. Matte walls and wooden furniture pick up the wax tone.
When selecting, consider
Wax lasts best on a rigid panel. Ask about the back and how the piece is meant to hang, since some panels carry a rail instead of eyelets.
