Strict form, soft crayon

Between two strips of painter’s tape, oil pastel lays down strong bands of color whose borders still breathe a little. That sets them apart from printed or sprayed geometry. Overlaps create mixed tones right on the surface, and the tooth of the paper or canvas stays visible. Clear geometry benefits from the visible hand.
