Water, pigment, paper
Watercolor with ink joins the lightness of water with the resolve of black. You can find watercolors in ink for sale here if you like sheets that look like atmosphere and drawing at the same time.
Ink in a watercolor is often more strongly pigmented than tube watercolor and therefore runs far. A few drops are enough for a sky, a forest or a shadow. The rough paper holds the moisture and gives the bleeding its grain.

Styles and price tiers
If you are looking for a direction, start with gestural work, photorealistic sheets, symbolist pictures or surreal scenes. For a first piece there are watercolors under 500 euro. Frame under glass with a gap and choose acid-free board.
Hanging and storing watercolor
Never hang watercolors with ink in blazing sun, and do not stack unframed sheets without interleaving. They are best kept flat in a portfolio with acid-free tissue. That keeps the edges clean and the washes undamaged.
