Chalk like a spray stick
Urban and pop art brings posters, packaging and signs into the picture and turns them into art that jumps out instantly. Urban and pop mixed media works with oil pastel are for sale here when your wall can handle some boldness.
Oil pastel covers strongly, never dries and can be overpainted in layers. That recalls wall tags and stencil graphics, only on a smaller, more intimate scale. Mixed technique adds print, collage or lacquer.

Colors that carry
Rich tones like red, yellow and turquoise glow particularly in oil pastel. Set them against neutral walls. More choice appears under painting and in the 500 to 1,000 euro band.
Before buying
Clarify whether the work is fixed or varnished, and how the frame protects the soft surface. Spacers are especially advisable with oil pastel. If several works make the shortlist, compare contrasts: pop lives on clear opposites between light and dark, colorful and neutral. The photo in the listing usually shows enough to judge that.
