Little material, lots of line
Pen and ink ask for little: a sheet, a bottle, a steady hand. You can find mixed media pen and ink pieces for sale under 500 euro, often in smaller formats that hang well in groups.
Because paper and ink are fairly simple, small and medium sheets are common at this level. Their effect comes from line work: hairline strokes beside dense fields, rows of dots, crosshatching. When mixed media joins in, watercolor stains or paper edges carry color into the black-and-white drawing. More pure drawings sit under the drawing technique.
