Originals in this selection, Impressionism, 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
Formats from 28.2 x 21 to 62.5 x 48 cm.
Short strokes, long looking
Impressionism draws what light does to things: outlines dissolve, color or tonal value swings between surfaces. Impressionist drawings for sale from 1,000 to 2,000 euro appear in pastel, pencil or charcoal.
In pastel, meadows, water and faces work through dabbed color that mixes in the eye. With pencil and vine charcoal, the density of the strokes takes over the role of color. At larger formats the style asks for some distance.

Warm light, soft space
Impressionist sheets feel at home in rooms with daylight where curtains break the sun. A frame in gold, oak or white suits the style. The mat can be generous so the blurred edges do not end at the molding.
Notes on the price tier
Between 1,000 and 2,000 euro, originals often have larger formats and a confident hand. Ask about dating, signature and material, and with pastel about fixing. A picture of the reverse side reveals how the sheet is attached.
