Chalk in facets
Pastel gives cubism color: dismantled planes become blocks of ochre, blue and green that glow side by side. Cubist pastel drawings for sale from 1,000 to 2,000 euro suit rooms that can take color and structure alike.
Each plane is a color block laid on broadly with the pastel. At the edges the tones meet sharply or run into fine transitions. The pigment stays matte and deep without turning glossy.

Pastel in the room
Cubist pastel sheets in particular benefit from neutral walls where the planes of color can glow. Frame with glass, a spacer and a mat in gray or white. Avoid places above radiators and in direct sun.
Details on the chalk
Ask about the pastel type, hard or soft, about the paper, and about any fixative. A sheet with a lot of pastel dust needs safe storage. Ask too about dimensions, signature and how it was framed before.
