Points of color that float
Pastel in the impressionist style is the classic way into colored drawing: light, air and color in one stroke. Impressionist pastel drawings under 500 euro for sale put mood ahead of strictness.
Pastel chalk puts small spots of color side by side that only merge in the eye. Pink, yellow and blue become an evening sky, green and ochre a field. The paper stays visible as grain and gives the picture breath.

Fitting for small walls
Small impressionist pastels can be combined into a group: a cloud study, a garden, a beach. Matching frames and equal spacing tie the motifs into a calm wall.
Protecting the pigment
Pastel belongs behind glass, with a mat as spacer. Fixative helps but sometimes changes the color. Ask about paper type and securing, and avoid sun and moisture. Prefer soft wall colors like cream, sage or sand if you want to strengthen the glow of the chalk. On a dark ground the same tones look denser and less airy.
