Speed on paper
A gestural sketch records what the body knows while drawing, before the head has sorted it out. You can buy expressive pencil sketches for sale here for walls where something may stay in motion.
In a gestural sketch speed counts: circling lines, broken starts, spots where the pencil almost goes through the paper. Unlike a finished drawing, corrections stay visible, and they give the sheet its pulse. A soft lead shows this most forcefully.

A frame with distance
Because graphite smudges, a frame with glass and a spacer strip is a good idea. White or natural wood lets the dynamics of the sheet work on the wall without the frame joining the conversation. Several sketches alternating portrait and landscape orientation make a lively group.
For checking
Look at paper edges, fold marks and the back. A sketch may carry traces as long as they belong to the character of the sheet. If a date or a short note from the draftsperson turns up, the sheet tells even more.
