Color in thin layers
Color on paper does not have to be painted: colored pencils draw with the precision of graphite and the warmth of pigment. Colored drawings for sale can be found under pencil or in the tier 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
With colored pencils a tone grows from many light layers. Red over yellow gives orange, blue over red a deep violet, and the paper stays visible as a fine grain. The result feels calmer and denser than a single stroke.

Close up, far enough away
Colored drawings live from details you only find from a short distance: a hatch, a highlight, a soft edge. Hang them at eye level so they can be read without effort, and under matte glass against reflections.
Light and authenticity
Colored pencils fade at different speeds depending on pigment. Ask about lightfast pencils and avoid direct sun. A signature and a paper note belong in the listing so you can place the sheet as an original.
