Planes instead of lines
Cubist pastels build a motif from planes like tiles, and the chalk colors each plane matte and rich. Cubist pastel drawings for sale are listed under pastel or in the tier 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
In cubism the object loses its fixed form. A bottle, a face or a house appears from the front, the side and above on the same sheet. Pastel turns that into a mosaic of colors.

Order in the room
The principle of the plane makes cubist sheets strong partners for modern furniture. They suit studies, dining rooms and offices. A frame in black or oak emphasizes the clean edges.
Buying tips
Ask about paper size including margin and whether the colors are fixed. The more angular the planes, the more visible it is whether the chalk was laid down cleanly. If you collect several cubist sheets, look for a shared color range, such as earth tones or blue-gray. Together they then form a wall with a clear signature.
