Why marble stands out among stones
Stone and marble are close relatives, yet not every stone is marble. Marble works that began as stone carving are for sale because of their density, polishability and fine veins.
Unlike coarse sandstone or brittle granite, marble can be worked finely: soft enough for carving and dense enough for a high-gloss polish. That is why details such as creases, lips or pierced patterns are possible. After sanding, the color appears deeper and the veins draw the body with fine lines.

Narrowing down and checking
To make the selection smaller, you can go to abstract forms or choose one of the price bands 500 to 1,000 euro, 1,000 to 2,000 euro and 2,000 to 5,000 euro. Check type of stone, weight and surface treatment in the description. Marble dislikes acids and constant moisture. Not every marble is the same: white varieties feel soft, gray ones feel cool. The difference only shows in the light of a room.
