Original artwork description
What interests me about this sculpture is the relationship between geometric order and organic movement. The starting point is a rectangular shape. When viewed from two directions, the stone appears as a solid form. If the sculpture is rotated 90 degrees, its appearance changes. From the same geometric form, a figurative-seeming vibration emerges.
The uniqueness lies in the structure of the form. Two parallel lines of oscillation run along the sculpture at a constant distance. In the figural views, they form the front and rear boundaries of the movement. The body emerges from the space between these two lines.
The human figure is not intended here as a representation. It arises from the interplay of line, space, and volume. Body, axis, and proportion remain implied. The form moves around its own center, continually creating new transitions between surface, edge, and curve.
Perception changes fundamentally depending on the viewpoint. From two directions, the geometric order of the rectangle is preserved. From the views shifted by 90 degrees, the oscillation emerges, giving rise to a figurative association. Both are inherent in the same form.
For me, this is an essential quality of the work. The stone retains its weight and geometric clarity, yet at the same time conveys a sense of lightness and movement. This vibration is not an artificial gesture, but arises from the sculpture’s very construction. Thus, our perception shifts between geometry, form, and abstraction.
