Cutting for the surface
A graphic linocut on paper is reduction in its purest form: black surface, white paper, clean edge. Graphic linocuts are for sale to anyone who likes bold signs in a room.
In a graphic linocut everything superfluous is cut away. Letters, figures and patterns remain standing and print as dense surfaces. The paper forms the second surface, bringing white or a natural tone into play. Letters that remain as relief work especially well, with edges that fray slightly, because you can see the hand in them.

Signs on the wall
Such sheets are good companions in rooms with a lot of wood, exposed concrete or metal. A frame without a mat strengthens directness, with a mat the appearance gets calmer. Groups of three sheets work well.
Hand-pulled print and paper
Number and signature are in pencil on the margin. Look for evenly covering ink and clean edges. The paper should be thick enough to take the impression of the plate. Ask about edition and size.
